LOCATION– The forgotten coast is a true gem. The house itself has a beautiful and advantageous placement on the cape. Your main view is the peaceful and picturesque bay of Port Saint Joe. The sunrise, natural bird songs and panoramic views are ever-changing and always a pleasure to experience on the daily. Even the view from the driveway is entertaining when watching the Egrets and Cranes fish for their meals in the well landscaped fresh water ponds that spread across the entryway to the home. The short ride to some of the best beaches are convenient. There is also a great wildlife park located a few miles up the road that spans great dunes and terminates at the tip of the cape with great beaches and viewpoints. THE HOME– The home has a great energy. The decorations highlight the ambiance of the cozy home. I would call the feel… beachy-rustic-chic. There is an excellent balance of masculine and feminine décor that creates a great energy and vacation vibe. Each item in the home has form, function and beauty. There are neighbors but you feel alone as your view is completely uninterrupted. The area is quiet and secluded compared to most of Florida’s coastal areas. It is increasingly rare to rent in Florida where peaceful and powerful coastal nature dominate the landscape. The beds are soft and comfortable with great linens. The bathrooms are updated, clean and beautiful. Most everything in the homes is new and clean. The climate control is on point and easily adjusted. The King size beds are a great choice and even with big beds the rooms feel spacious and not cramped. The appliances are all new and clean, fulfilling all our needs. We were pleased to find a fully stocked kitchen right down to the tiny important things you didn’t think you needed. Even the utensils and cookware are top quality and healthy minded. We did not use the TVs much but they are new, smart, huge and quality. The rooms feel spacious and clean with great views from the main rooms. The morning light entering the home bring to life each day’s adventures. Often, a coffee and accompanying view from the deck are a highlight of each day. The yard and dock access are one of the coolest parts of the properties exterior/surroundings. Each walk on the dock presents new wildlife and opportunities for spotting fish as well as catching dinner. There are rental companies for bikes, kayaks and SUPs just up the road. Kayak fishing in the bay was my favorite outside activity this trip, catching red drum and sea trout within shouting distance from the dock. AMENITIES- There are restaurants, bars, bait & tackle shops and some general stores located with a mile or less. A full grocery with organic foods is in Pt. Saint Joe about 20-25 minutes away. BEACHES- The beaches are excellent and have a private beach vibe with little to no crowds. The sand is white, soft and fun for all.
